Longserving Supreme Court staff member Betty Mroz, Assistant to the Registrar, has been honoured for her 51 years of service. A longserving member of the Supreme Court staff has been honoured upon her retirement after more than 50 years of service.

Assistant Registrar Betty Mroz was presented with an engraved plaque, a picture and travel gift certificate by the Bermuda Bar Association, in conjunction with the Registry of the Supreme Court.

Justin Williams, vice president of the association, said Mrs Mroz is “virtually a household name in legal circles” thanks to her dedication to her career.

He said: “We are pleased to honour Mrs Mroz for her 51 years of service to the judicial system and the legal profession as a whole. Mrs Mroz is a Member of the British Empire and was a recipient of the Queen’s Certificate and Badge of Honour.

“She has undertaken numerous civic responsibilities including treasurer of Project 100, an organisation dedicated to improving the lot of the mentally handicapped.

“Mrs Mroz is, and has been responsible for, the day-to-day management of the Registry for over 50 years. During these years she has served the department with great distinction through her conscientiousness, initiative, dedication and loyalty.”
